Custom Cream Boxes: Full Specifications

Key Takeaways

  • Specify a cream carton from the filled, capped container. A 50 ml jar, a 50 ml tube and a 50 ml airless pump produce three different cartons.
  • The tube crimp, the jar lid and the pump actuator are the measurements people miss. Each one is wider or taller than the body it sits on.
  • State carton dimensions as internal length x width x depth, and say the word internal, so nothing is assumed at tooling.
  • Minimum order is 100 boxes, from about $0.48 per unit at bulk volumes, confirmed on your written quote, with die, plates, design support, US shipping and a digital proof included.

This is a specification sheet for cream and moisturiser cartons. It lists what we need in order to quote, and what each field should contain. To order the product, go to custom cream boxes.

Container measurements

Carton specification fields

  • Internal dimensions. Length x width x depth, stated as internal.
  • Style. Straight tuck, reverse tuck, seal end, sleeve, or rigid for a premium line.
  • Board. Folding carton board for a unit carton. Kraft for a natural look. Corrugated if the carton ships on its own.
  • Print. Number of colours and any Pantone references, supplied as vector artwork.
  • Finish. Gloss, matte, spot UV, soft touch, foil or embossing. Leave any batch code area uncoated.
  • Insert. None, a card platform, or a fitted cradle. A jar that moves inside a carton feels cheap on opening.
  • Quantity and turnaround lane. Minimum 100 per item, and rush, standard or cost saver.

Panel planning

Skincare cartons carry an ingredient list, net contents, a batch code, a period after opening symbol and often a recycling mark. List every item, assign each to a panel, and confirm legibility at final size before tooling. A carton that runs out of panel space needs a new die. If a label is applied over the carton after printing, tell us where, because a gloss coated panel can cause a label to lift.

What we do not claim

We make the packaging. Cosmetic claims, ingredient statements and any regulatory marking you print are yours to substantiate, and the requirements differ by market. Tell us what must appear and we will lay it out and show it on the proof.

Commercial terms

Minimum order is 100 boxes per item. Pricing starts from about $0.48 per unit at bulk volumes and is confirmed on your written quote, since size, board, finish and any insert all move it. Every order includes the cutting die and plates, design support, US shipping and a digital proof before anything prints. That last point is the reason a carton cut to your exact jar costs no more to tool than a rounded size.

Turnaround runs in three lanes: rush (expedited production with air freight), standard (air) and cost saver (sea). The floor is from about 7 business days plus 2 to 5 for delivery, and specialty imported items such as rigid cartons with fitted cradles can run up to about 12 weeks. Rush adds a premium of about 7 to 25% depending on the job. We produce in West Chicago and in Guangzhou.

Complete the fields above as far as you can, attach your container spec sheet if you have one, and request a quote. We will confirm the carton size and price at your volume before anything is tooled.
