If you run a business in Chicago and you need printed boxes, here is the honest version of how that works. iBox is not a Chicago company with a Chicago showroom. It runs two plants, one in West Chicago in the United States and one in Guangzhou in China, and its head office is in Casa Grande, Arizona. What Chicago buyers get is production that can run domestically and delivery with US shipping included.
What "shipped to Chicago" means in practice
- US shipping is included in the order, so the quoted per unit price is not undercut by a freight line at the end.
- Domestic production is available at the West Chicago plant, and which plant runs your order depends on the specification and the lane you choose.
- There is no will call counter. Boxes are delivered to your address, not collected.
- Everything is made to order. There is no local stock of blank boxes to pick up the same day.
Who orders boxes into Chicago
The mix in a dense city is different from a suburban one. Restaurants and bakeries buy food boxes and trays in repeat volume. Ecommerce sellers working out of small warehouse space care about flat packed mailers, because storage costs more per square foot than the boxes do. Trade show exhibitors need presentation and sample boxes on a fixed date. Manufacturers and distributors buy corrugated shippers and inners. Those different needs point at different lanes, which is really the only decision a Chicago buyer needs to make differently from anyone else.
Choosing a lane against a Chicago delivery
| Lane | How it moves | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Rush | Expedited production plus air freight, premium of about 7 to 25% depending on the job | Fixed event dates, trade shows, running out mid season |
| Standard | Air freight | Normal replenishment where the date has some room |
| Cost saver | Sea freight | Planned bulk restocking at the lowest per unit price |
The floor is from about 7 business days plus 2 to 5 days for delivery, stated per product. Specialty imported items can run up to about 12 weeks, so plan those well ahead of a season.
Ordering
The minimum order is 100 boxes per size and artwork. Pricing starts from about $0.48 per unit at bulk volumes and the exact figure is confirmed on your written quote. Included in the order: the die, the printing plates, design support, US shipping and a digital proof before anything prints. There is no sample kit to buy, so if you want to handle a box before committing to a larger run, raise it during the quote conversation. You can reach the team at sales@iboxfactory.com or +1 (201) 510-1994.
What to send with a Chicago enquiry
- The inside dimensions you need, written length x width x depth, or the product measurements so the interior can be worked out for you.
- The quantity, remembering the minimum is per size and per artwork rather than per order.
- Your artwork as vector on a dieline, or a description if you would like design support to build one.
- The date the boxes need to be at your address, which is what decides the lane.
Send your size, quantity, artwork and delivery address through the quote form for a per unit price and a delivery date. Ordering elsewhere in the state? See custom boxes shipped to Illinois, and for volume pricing generally, wholesale custom boxes.
