Custom Candle Boxes
Are you looking for custom candle boxes with tailored designs and styles? We do custom packaging solutions for all kinds of candles, including taper, scented, pillar, jar, and tealight. Made to your size and artwork from 100 units, with the die, plates, design support and US shipping included, and a digital proof before anything prints.
Key Takeaways
iBox Factory makes custom candle boxes from 100 boxes per design, sized around the candle vessel with its lid in place. For glass jars, a fitted insert that stops the jar moving inside the box does more for safe shipping than heavier board. The die, the plates, design support and US shipping are included, and you approve a digital proof before anything prints.

Candles are sold by wax weight and packed by vessel size, and those two numbers have no fixed relationship. An 8 oz candle in a squat tumbler and an 8 oz candle in a tall straight sided jar need different boxes. Everything below starts from the vessel.
Measure the vessel, with the lid on
Take three measurements and send them with your enquiry:
- Outside diameter at the widest point of the jar. On a tapered tumbler that is the rim, not the base.
- Total height with the lid seated. A domed or knobbed lid adds more than people expect.
- Any overhang: lid rims that sit proud of the glass are what jam a box that looked correct on paper.
Then decide the fit you want. A snug box (roughly a sixteenth of an inch of clearance) looks considered and holds the candle still, but leaves no room for variation between glass batches. A looser box is more forgiving and needs an insert to stop rattle. Glass vessels vary batch to batch more than most people assume, so if you buy jars from more than one supplier, measure the largest one you have.
Build options
| Build | Why choose it | Cost note |
|---|---|---|
| Two piece rigid | Retail gifting, heavier feel in hand, reusable by the customer | Highest board cost, ships assembled |
| Folding carton with insert | The standard retail candle box, ships flat | Insert adds a second die and an assembly step |
| Sleeve over a tray | Sets and multi candle gifts | Tolerances are tight, the sleeve has to slide but not slip |
| Corrugated mailer | Direct to consumer shipping without a second outer box | Needs a fitment for glass, not just void fill |
Shipping glass
Most candle breakages happen because the jar can move inside the box. Board grade helps, but a fitment that immobilises the vessel and keeps it away from the corners helps more. Corrugated fitments, chipboard collars, moulded pulp cradles and cut foam all do this, at different price points and different pack out speeds. Our guide to custom insert packaging compares them. If you ship candles as multipacks, cell dividers are usually cheaper than individually boxing each candle and then shipping the boxes together.
Print and finish
Candle buyers respond to texture, so uncoated boards, soft touch lamination, foil stamping and blind embossing are all common here. Two practical notes: uncoated stock mutes colour, so approve the digital proof rather than the screen, and any foil or emboss needs its own tooling on the first run. If you want the full finish menu, see luxury custom packaging.
Minimums, price and lead time
The minimum order is 100 boxes per design, which lets a small maker run one scent family at a time rather than committing to a whole range. Pricing starts from about $0.48 per unit at bulk volumes and is confirmed on your written quote. The die, the plates, design support, US shipping and a digital proof are included.
Turnaround is stated per product in three lanes: rush is expedited production plus air freight, standard is air, cost saver is sea. The floor is from about 7 business days plus 2 to 5 for delivery, and specialty imported items such as some rigid builds can run up to about 12 weeks. Rush adds about 7 to 25% depending on the job. Send your vessel dimensions and quantity through the quote form and we will size the box around the glass you actually use.
