A noodle box is a folded pail: one die-cut blank that locks into a leakproof-ish base and closes with interlocking top flaps. Because it ships and stores flat and assembles at the counter, it is one of the cheapest branded formats a food business can run, and the whole outside surface is printable.
Pick the capacity before anything else
| Capacity | Typically used for |
|---|---|
| 8 oz | Side portions, sauces, small rice or salad add-ons |
| 16 oz | A single entree portion, the most common everyday size |
| 26 oz | A large entree or a portion meant to be shared once |
| 32 oz | Family and shareable portions, catering trays of noodles |
Most menus need two capacities rather than four. Each capacity is its own size and carries its own 100 unit minimum, so pick the two that cover the widest part of your menu before adding a third.
Handle or no handle
A wire handle makes the pail easier to carry loose and reads as classic takeout. It also adds a component and a step, and handles get in the way when pails are packed tightly into a delivery bag. If most of your volume goes into bags anyway, a handleless pail with a clean top fold usually costs less and stacks better. Tell us which way your orders leave the building and we will quote accordingly.
Printing on a shape that folds
The artwork for a pail is laid out on the flat blank, not on a rectangle, so a logo centred on screen can end up crossing a fold or disappearing into the base panel. Send vector art and our included design support will place it on the dieline and show you exactly where each element lands on the folded pail. You get a digital proof before anything prints, and production waits for your approval. Dark full-coverage backgrounds are worth proofing carefully because folds show ink cracking more on heavy solids than on lighter designs.
Contents and coating
Hot noodles carry steam, sauce and oil, and that combination behaves differently against different boards. State on the quote request what the pail will hold and whether it is sealed hot, so the board and any coating are specified for that use and written into your quote rather than assumed.
Minimum, price and turnaround
The minimum is 100 units per size and artwork. Pricing starts from about $0.48 per unit at bulk volumes and the written quote gives your number. Included at no charge: the cutting die, the printing plates, design support, US shipping and a digital proof. Turnaround is quoted per product across three lanes. Rush pairs expedited production with air freight and adds roughly 7 to 25 percent depending on the job. Standard moves by air. Cost saver moves by sea and is the lane to use when you are stocking a quarter of pails at once. Production starts from about 7 business days plus 2 to 5 days for delivery, and specialty imported items can run up to about 12 weeks.
