Length drives everything
Extensions are sold by length in inches, and that single number sets the box. The arithmetic below assumes a bundle folded once, which is the common retail presentation, with a small allowance so the fold is not compressed against the end of the box.

Notes on presentation
Texture, colour and length are the purchase decision in this category, so the pack has to show at least two of the three. A window over the hair, a clear lid, or an open tray with a sleeve all work. Keep the length and the colour or shade code in a fixed position across the range so a shelf or a shopfront reads quickly, and make sure a label or sticker has a flat, unbroken area to sit on.
