This page is the buying guide. If you already know what you need and want to order, go straight to custom skincare boxes. What follows is how to decide the four things a skincare carton quote asks you for: structure, size, board and finish.
Match the carton to the container
| What you are packing | Usual structure | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Pump or dropper bottle | Reverse tuck or straight tuck end carton | Tall and narrow, loads from the top, cheapest per unit |
| Wide jar or balm tin | Two-piece box or a shallow tuck carton | Short and wide loads better from above than through an end |
| Squeeze tube | Tuck carton or a printed sleeve | The tube keeps its own shape, the carton is mostly a print surface |
| Multi-product set | Rigid two-piece with a fitted insert | Each item needs its own seat so nothing shifts in transit |
| Travel or sample size | Small tuck carton or pillow box | Low cost per unit at the volumes samples usually run |
Measure the closure, not the bottle
The most common sizing mistake in skincare is measuring the bottle body and forgetting that a pump head, a dropper bulb or an overcap adds height, sometimes half an inch or more. Measure the container as it will be filled and capped, add a small clearance so it slides rather than wedges, and send those three numbers. Design support is included and will turn them into a dieline. If you have a filled sample, tell us during the quote conversation and we can work from the physical unit instead.
Board and finish
Most skincare cartons run on paperboard in the middle of the caliper range, heavy enough to stand on a shelf without bowing but not so heavy that the carton feels like a gift box. Guidance on choosing is on what paperboard thickness to use. On finish, the practical differences are these: matte lamination hides handling marks and fingerprints, gloss lifts color saturation, spot gloss over matte creates contrast without adding a second material, and embossing gives a tactile mark that survives being photographed badly. Foil reads as premium and works best on small marks rather than large areas.
What the artwork has to carry
Skincare cartons usually have to fit an ingredient list, a net weight, a batch or expiry field, a barcode and any warnings your market requires. That is a lot of small type on limited panels, so decide panel allocation before the design is finished rather than after. We print the artwork you supply and do not review claims or regulatory content, so confirm requirements for your product and market with whoever handles that for you.
Ordering
The minimum is 100 units per size and artwork, and each variant in your line is its own size and its own 100. Pricing starts from about $0.48 per unit at bulk volumes, with the real figure on your written quote. Turnaround is quoted per product across three lanes: rush (expedited production plus air freight, adding roughly 7 to 25 percent), standard (air) and cost saver (sea). Production starts from about 7 business days plus 2 to 5 days for delivery, and specialty imported items can run up to about 12 weeks.
When you have the structure and size settled, order at custom skincare boxes or send the specs through the quote form. For a broader line across makeup and skincare, see custom cosmetic boxes.
