Description

Finishes That Enhance Black Packaging

Unique coatings can change the look and feel of a black box. Gold or silver foil can create a metallic contrast, while embossing adds a tactile dimension to a logo. Spot UV creates glossy features on a matte surface, enhancing the design’s depth.

Different Structures for Different Products

You can produce black candle packaging as folding cartons, two-piece boxes, drawer boxes, magnetic rigid boxes, and other custom structures. A simple carton can work for everyday retail candles, while rigid construction can support a gift or luxury collection.

Packaging for Modern Fragrance Brands

Black packaging can be effective for masculine scents, simple home fragrance series, modern candle assortments, and lifestyle brands. You can adapt the same dark foundation for different fragrances by changing the typography, accent shades, foil, and illustrations.

Coordinate the Interior

The interior can also be developed as part of the black packaging concept. Additionally, a contrasting insert or printed interior can create a visual difference when the box opens. For candle jars, custom inserts can also provide controlled positioning and help keep the product securely in place.

Artwork Preparation Guide

Cut Line (Black Line)

Indicates the cut at its final size. Important artwork and text should be placed at least 0.125 inches inside of the cut line.

Perforation (Dotted Black Lines)

Perforation line refers to paper that is punched with very small holes to allow the paper to be torn and folded easily.

Bleed Line (Red Lines)

Indicates where the bleed line is located. Any artwork which goes to the cut line should be extended to the bleed line to get a seamless print.

Crease Line (Green Lines)

Indicates where the product is to be folded.

Safety Margin (Dotted Green Lines)

Indicates where artwork and text should safely be placed inside. As an industry standard, all artwork should at least be placed 0.125 inches away from the cut line unless your design is intentional.
