Baby product packaging has an unusual audience structure. The person buying is often not the person using, and very often not the person opening. A carton for a bottle set has to satisfy a parent scanning a shelf, a gift buyer who wants it to look considered, and a recipient opening it in front of other people.
Three jobs, three structures
Single product cartons
Bottles, pacifiers, teething items and small accessories run in tuck end cartons, sized from the product with any cap or closure fitted. A window is worth considering here more than in most categories, because buyers want to see shape, size and material before they trust it.
Apparel and multipiece sets
Folded garments need a shallow box with a large footprint, and the folded stack height is what sets the depth. Measure a folded set, not a single garment. A tray with a sleeve or a two piece box both work; the two piece presents better and costs more.
Gift sets
A rigid two piece box with a fitted insert is the standard for gift-oriented sets, because everything is visible the moment the lid comes off. See two piece boxes and insert packaging.
What we take responsibility for, and what we do not
We manufacture to the artwork and specification you supply. We do not certify compliance with children's product regulations, safety standards or labelling rules in any market, and we do not review claims printed on your artwork. Confirm requirements for your product and jurisdiction with whoever handles that for you, then send us the finished files. You will see a digital proof before anything prints and production waits on your written approval.
Practical build decisions
| Decision | What to weigh |
|---|---|
| Window or solid panel | Showing the product builds trust; a solid panel gives you more print area |
| Insert material | Folded board is lighter and cheaper, cut foam holds heavier or oddly shaped items |
| Board caliper | Large flat panels need stiffness, or they bow on a shelf |
| Finish | Matte lamination hides handling marks on a box that gets picked up repeatedly |
| Hang tab | Decide before the dieline, because adding one later means a new die |
Building a range without multiplying runs
The minimum is 100 units per size and artwork, so a range of six products in six artworks is six hundred boxes. If you are launching, the cheaper structure is one or two carton sizes shared across products, with the differences carried by a printed sleeve or a label. The die is reused and the plates are included, so growing the range later does not create a tooling charge.
Pricing and lead time
Bulk pricing starts from about $0.48 per unit, confirmed on your written quote. Included: the cutting die, the printing plates, design support, US shipping and the digital proof. Turnaround is quoted per product across three lanes: rush pairs expedited production with air freight and adds roughly 7 to 25 percent, standard moves by air, and cost saver moves by sea. Production starts from about 7 business days plus 2 to 5 days for delivery, and specialty imported constructions such as rigid gift boxes can run up to about 12 weeks. Manufacturing is at West Chicago in the US and Guangzhou in China.
