Custom HDPE Jars

Custom HDPE Jars are reliable, robust, and trusted across more product categories than almost any other jar material. They quietly protect the product, support the brand, and deliver consistent performance without unnecessary complexity. That is exactly what effective packaging should do: preserve the contents, communicate the brand, and let the product take center stage.

Description

The Material Properties That Make HDPE Jars So Widely Used

HDPE is the go-to jar material across pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food, and industrial applications for a combination of reasons that no single alternative material matches entirely. It is lightweight yet strong, helping brands reduce shipping costs compared with glass at similar fill weights. Additionally, it resists most personal care actives, food ingredients, and pharmaceutical compounds, preventing unwanted reactions with the product. It also provides a strong moisture barrier that protects dry products and maintains liquid product quality throughout the shelf life. And it is inherently BPA-free, which communicates a safety credential buyers and regulatory bodies expect from food and personal care primary packaging.

Opaque and Translucent Finish Options

HDPE jars are available in opaque white, opaque black, and milky translucent natural finishes as standard, with custom color options available for brands whose product identity requires a specific shade. The opacity of a white or black HDPE jar protects light-sensitive formulations from UV degradation while communicating a clean, considered brand aesthetic. The milky translucent natural finish gives a partial view of the product inside, communicating an honest, straightforward brand character. Each finish has its own visual language and we help brands choose the one that communicates their specific positioning most effectively.

Moisture Barrier Performance for Every Product Type

HDPE’s moisture barrier is one of its most commercially important properties. For dry products including protein powders, supplement capsules, spice blends, and cosmetic powders, the barrier prevents humidity from entering the jar and degrading the product. For cream and paste formulations including body butters, thick moisturizers, and paste food products, the barrier prevents moisture loss through the jar wall that would change the product’s texture and performance over time. In both directions, the moisture barrier maintains the product’s specification from fill date to last use.

Wide-Mouth Format for Easy Filling and Access

HDPE jars are really good for products that you need to scoop or measure by hand. This is because they have a mouth that makes it easy to fill them up and get to everything inside. You can even put things like spatulas and scoops in the jar with the product. This makes HDPE jars perfect for things like body butters, hair masks and thick creams. They are also great for food that you eat with a spoon.

Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Applications

HDPE jars are the standard primary container for supplement capsules, tablets, and powders across the nutraceutical and pharmaceutical industries. The moisture barrier protects tablet integrity, the chemical inertness of the material prevents interaction with active pharmaceutical ingredients, and the wide-mouth format allows efficient high-speed filling on pharmaceutical production lines. Child-resistant closure options are available for pharmaceutical applications requiring regulated closure formats.

Cosmetic and Personal Care Applications

People use body butters, hair masks, face creams, exfoliating scrubs and thick treatment formulations. These things are usually stored in HDPE jars. The reason is that HDPE jars have a mouth. This makes it easy to apply the products with your fingers or a spatula. The jars are not seen through which is good because it keeps the light from affecting the parts of the products. Also HDPE jars do not react with the body butters, hair masks, face creams, exfoliating scrubs and thick treatment formulations. This is important for brands no matter how expensive or cheap they are. HDPE jars are a choice because they work well and do not cost too much. Cosmetic brands like HDPE jars because they provide the combination of performance and economics, for body butters, hair masks, face creams, exfoliating scrubs and thick treatment formulations.

Closure and Liner Options

HDPE jars come with thread neck finishes in standard sizes like 70-400 and other common closure diameters. They work well with screw caps, child-resistant closures and tamper-evident bands. You can also use induction seal liner options with them.

Induction seal liners do two things: they show if something has been opened and they add an extra barrier against moisture at the closure. This is especially important for supplement and pharmaceutical applications. In these cases a secure seal is required by regulations. Also helps build trust with consumers. HDPE jars with these features are valuable, for supplement and pharmaceutical applications.

Artwork Preparation Guide

Cut Line (Black Line)

Indicates the cut at its final size. Important artwork and text should be placed at least 0.125 inches inside of the cut line.

Perforation (Dotted Black Lines)

Perforation line refers to paper that is punched with very small holes to allow the paper to be torn and folded easily.

Bleed Line (Red Lines)

Indicates where the bleed line is located. Any artwork which goes to the cut line should be extended to the bleed line to get a seamless print.

Crease Line (Green Lines)

Indicates where the product is to be folded.

Safety Margin (Dotted Green Lines)

Indicates where artwork and text should safely be placed inside. As an industry standard, all artwork should at least be placed 0.125 inches away from the cut line unless your design is intentional.
